Celtic should consider making a move for Shane Long.
Celtic would be receiving a £30 million windfall if they qualify for the group stages of the Champions League, which looks like a formality.
Rodgers should be looking to sign an experienced striker, preferably from the Premier League, who would bring something extra to what the present group offers.
With that in mind, the former Liverpool manager should target Southampton experienced forward, Shane Long.
The Republic of Ireland international endured a miserable spell under Claude Puel last season, managing only 10 league starts, and scoring three goals.
But in 2015/16, he scored 10 Premier League goals in 28 matches for the Saints. Long is physically strong, who has a proven goal scoring record.
Long has dropped down the pecking order at the club behind Manolo Gabbiadini, and should look to move elsewhere in search of regular football.
He could be looking for new challenges, and could be tempted by the prospect of playing Champions League football.
According to transfermarkt, he would cost around £8.24 million, but surely Celtic can negotiate and bring the price down.
Given his quality and experience, he should be a fantastic signing for the Bhoys. Celtic should make a move for him this summer.
