Two Premier League players were on the scoresheet as Serbia eased to a World Cup qualifying win away to Moldova.

Serbia won the game 3-0, with Hamburg winger Filip Kostic opening the scoring.

Their lead was doubled by Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, who ensured Serbia went in at the break 2-0 up.

Serbia tied the game up in the second half when Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic made it 3-0, continuing his recent good form.

The 27-year-old recently scored in the Saints’ 3-0 win over West Ham, and has been a regular in Claude Puel’s line-up.

The game was a bit more disappointing for Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who was an unused substitute in the fixture.

In the past Mitrovic has been an automatic pick for his country, but has fallen out of favour.

This reflects his season at Newcastle so far, where after beginning the campaign serving a ban, he has struggled to force his way into Rafa Benitez’s side.

Mitrovic has only one start and four substitute appearances this season in the league, scoring once and providing one assist.
