The Southampton striker has been linked with a return to Serie A.

Given the stellar start that he made to his career at the club, the very idea of Southampton selling Manolo Gabbiadini would previously have seemed rather bizarre.
Having joined from Napoli in January 2017, Gabbiadini proceeded to score six goals in first four games for Southampton, providing the club’s supporters with plenty of encouragement.

Since then, however, Gabbiadini has often been underwhelming and this season he has mustered just three goals in 20 Premier League appearances.
There have been suggestions that Gabbiadini could depart Southampton this month, with Bologna looking to entice the striker back to Serie A, as reported by Tutto Mercato Web.

Gabbiadini previously had a loan spell at Bologna in the 2012/13 season, during which he scored six goals in Serie A.
Letting Gabbiadini return to Italy may well be a good move for Southampton as it appears unlikely that he will be able to make a significant contribution in the Premier League in the near future.
Provided that they bring in a suitable replacement to ensure they have sufficient depth up front, Southampton shouldn’t have any hesitation in letting Gabbiadini leave.
