Southampton’s official Twitter account has aimed a hilarious warning at Jordan Henderson after he posted a photo of himself alongside Danny Ings.
The pair are currently on international duty together, and the Liverpool captain wrote ‘missed this man’ to accompany his photo of the pair.
In jovial fashion, Southampton’s Twitter account then wrote: ‘Don’t get any funny ideas, Jordan.’
They are, presumably, referencing the fact that Liverpool have snatched many a player from their clutches in recent years.
The Premier League champions began their head-hunting at St Mary’s by plucking Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert from the Saints in the summer of 2014.
They signed Nathaniel Clyne the following summer as well.

Also, when Jurgen Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers, the German continued his predecessor’s cherry-picking of Southampton’s best players by signing Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk.
As a result of these transfer antics from Liverpool, Southampton’s Twitter account were jokingly warning Henderson – who Spotrac say earns £140,000-a-week at Anfield – away from their star man Ings, in fear that he too would leave them for Anfield.

Southampton coincidentally bucked the trend and signed Ings from Liverpool in a deal worth £20 million.
The ex-Burnley man has turned out to be a fantastic signing, scoring 25 goals in all competitions last term.
Despite having every reason to be infuriated by Liverpool’s past poaching antics, it’s good to see the Saints be able to poke fun at the situation.
