Southampton’s Jordy Clasie won’t commit to an exit from the club just yet.
Talented midfielder Jordy Clasie is keeping his options open over his future.
Clasie fell out of favour at Southampton and is out on loan at Belgian side Club Brugge.
The first half of his season was hit by injury but in recent weeks he has made his way into the team.
Brugge would be open to a permanent deal but Clasie is not giving much away with regard to his intentions.
He told Belgium’s Sport Magazine: “That is now very difficult to say. Way too early.
“I am here for a few months under contract and I am going to try to play as much as possible and win a prize.
“Then we’ll see what’s coming.”
Clasie may well be waiting to see if a better option emerges in the summer, but he will have to prove himself over the coming months.
He has made 14 appearances for Brugge this season, providing two assists.
Clasie might wonder what the future holds at Southampton too, with Mauricio Pellegrino hardly winning fans over. He is worse off than Claude Puel was last season, and he was fired at the end of the campaign.
Commenting on his St Mary’s spell, Clasie added: “My first season was very good, of the 27 games I played 20. Often started. Only when Koeman left, I started playing less and went downhill. “
