The Southampton manager is highly respected within the game.

Southampton FC Manager Radhi Jaidi during the Premier League 2 playoff final between Southampton FC and Newcastle United FC at St. Mary's Stadium on May 13, 2019 in Southampton, England.

Southampton under-23 boss Radhi Jaidi spoke exclusively to the Daily Echo, and offered high words of praise for Ralph Hasenhuttl, highlighting how similar he is to Tottenham chief Mauricio Pochettino in the way that he goes about his work.

The Saints narrowly avoided relegation down to the Championship this season, but they undoubtedly made improvements after the Austrian was handed the reigns at St Mary’s in December of last year.

Southampton are a club with great potential, and their fans will be hoping that Hasenhuttl’s men can make a real push for the top 10 in the Premier League next season.

And with Hasenhuttl at the helm, that should be a realistic goal for the south coast club.

Jaidi shared how something that the Southampton boss has already done at St Mary’s reminds him of Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, when speaking exclusively to the Daily Echo:

Ralph Hasenhuttl the head coach

“When he first came to Staplewood, he watched the Under-23s first. He even came to the dressing room to pick some players at half time and told me to stop playing them as he wanted them in the first team. I was just thinking, ‘Thank you, Ralph’. It was the first time I had experienced that kind of thing. We had Mauricio Pochettino before who did a similar thing with Sam Gallagher, Luke Shaw, Matt Targett and Sam McQueen.”

Pochetitno has proven to be one of the best managers in the game since moving to Tottenham five years ago, and if Hasenhuttl can go on to emulate the Argentine at Southampton, the south coast club will have a very bright future ahead of them.
