Southampton defender Valentino Livramento is shining this season having arrived from Chelsea – and boss Ralph Hasenhuttl loves him.
The Saints pounced to sign Livramento this summer, paying just £5million to land him from Chelsea.
With Livramento inside the final year of his contract, Chelsea chose to sell on the cheap – but he could return.
As part of the deal, Chelsea hold a £25million buy-back clause. Livramento could end up back at Chelsea one day, but he needs to shine at Southampton first.
Livramento makes early Southampton impression after Chelsea exit
The 18-year-old has immediately impressed with the Saints.
Livramento has shown both sides of his game. With three key passes against Newcastle United, Livramento showed his creativity.
Eight successful dribbles across five games is impressive too, showing Livramento’s quality on the ball.
Defensively, Livramento has helped Southampton keep two clean sheets in a row – including one against Manchester City.
Nine interceptions and 11 clearances across his five games; Livramento is showing Chelsea what he can do.

Hasenhuttl comments on Livramento
Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is a huge fan of his new defender.
Hasenhuttl told The Telegraph that he is ‘supper happy’ with Livramento, especially physically.
The Austrian doesn’t want everyone to talk too much about Livramento though – likely fearing interest in him down the line.
If Chelsea want Livramento back, Southampton can’t really do anything about it. No wonder Hasenhuttl wants to keep his progress quiet.
“I must say I’m super happy with this guy, he shows every week how strong he is,” said Hasenhuttl.
“When you play against players like these you have to be good. Physically, a good guy, good height for a full back. But keep it calm – don’t talk too much about him!” he added.
