It is fair to say there is no love lost between Southampton and Liverpool.

Southampton and Liverpool have had strained relations in recent times despite more money changing hands between them than any other clubs in the country, or indeed Europe in the modern era.
Liverpool’s tendency to look towards the Saints when searching for new signings is there for all to see with the signings of Adam Lallana, Sadio Mane, Nathaniel Clyne, Rickie Lambert, Dejan Lovren and, most recently, Virgil van Dijk.
All have made the switch to Anfield from the south coast in recent years much to the chagrin of Saints fans, in particular legend Matt Le Tissier.
The former talismanic forward is not shy in coming forward with his opinions on Liverpool despite working as a pundit for Sky Sports where he is expected to maintain a degree of impartiality.

A prolific tweeter, Le Tissier often takes to the social networking site to make barbed comments about Liverpool and even trolled the club when they were forced to sell star Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in January, saying: “Doesn’t it get annoying being a feeder club.”
That has of course fed accusations that Le Tissier has a strong dislike, or even hatred for the Reds.
But the Saints legend has hit back at such allegations on Twitter when he responded too a message accusing him of “hating” the Anfield side.

“I don’t hate any football club,” Le Tissier said with a thumbs up to the supporter.
“However I do dislike keyboard warriors whichever club they support.”
