Luckily Villa should be a team they beat – especially based on the evidence of this meeting last season.
Southampton were rampant against Villa back in May, not long after Villa under Tim Sherwood had seemingly secured their Premier League status.
Sadio Mane scored the fastest hat-trick in Premier League history and a brace from Shane Long had The Saints 5-1 up at half-time. Graziano Pelle finished the rout off in the 81st minute.
One Southampton legend is hoping for a similar result.
