Southampton have considered Gerardo Seoane as their new manager having parted ways with Ralph Hasenhuttl on Monday.
The Saints lost 4-1 to Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon and that proved to be the end for Hasenhuttl.
The Austrian had been walking a tightrope for what felt like weeks, even months, but Southampton have finally pulled the trigger.
Southampton may take the World Cup break to find their new boss but they already names in mind.

Southampton have considered Gerardo Seoane
One of them is Luton Town boss Nathan Jones, who was given permission to speak to Southampton on Monday.
The Saints are considering other options though and 90Min claim that one of them is Swiss coach Gerardo Seoane.
Seoane, 44, turned out for the likes of Luzern, Sion, Aarau and Grosshoppers in his playing career.
Seoane turned to coaching in the Luzern ranks, all the way up from Under-15 level to the senior side in 2018.
10 win in 17 games quickly landed Seoane the Young Boys job and major success followed.
97 wins and just 24 defeats in 148 games as Young Boys boss saw Seoane land three league titles and one domestic cup success.
Bayer Leverkusen swooped in for Seoane in 2021 and a third-place finish last season suggested that the Bundesliga side had found a quality young manager.
It all fell apart this season though and Seoane was sacked on October 5th after one win and five defeats in Leverkusen’s opening eight games of the season.
Xabi Alonso has replaced Seoane at Leverkusen and that leaves the Swiss coach waiting for a new opportunity.
Seoane would be available without compensation unlike Jones, and he should be a name for Saints fans to keep an eye on as the race to become Hasenhuttl’s successor begins.
