The Saints were knocked out by Dinamo Zagreb at St Mary’s on Wednesday night.

Southampton Under-23s have enjoyed a superb campaign so far but unfortunately their Premier League International Cup journey came to an end at the semi-final stage against Dinamo Zagreb.
St Mary’s Stadium played host to the young Saints – and their Croatian counterparts, both sides hoping to set up a showdown with Bayern Munich in the final of the competition.
A bright start to the game for both teams saw the visitors take the lead through Leon Sipos, who connected with Antonio Marin’s cutback from the byline to rifle past Harry Lewis.
However, Southampton levelled on 22 minutes, Will Smallbone delivering a pinpoint cross for Harry Hamblin to head beyond the reach of Dinamo goalkeeper Dinko Horkas.
The goalscorer was sent off on 36 minutes for a challenge on Marko Gjira and after that, the away side went on to add two more goals, through Marko Gjira and Petar Cuic.
Come the final whistle and the Southampton full-time tweet, some Saints fans took to Twitter to have their say on what they had seen:
Up next for Radhi Jaidi’s charges is West Bromwich Albion away and then Sunderland at home in the Premier League 2.
