The Saints ace is closing in on a return from injury and Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl will be making a late decision on him.

A number of Southampton fans have commented on Twitter to the club’s teasing post regarding Nathan Redmond, who has been recovering from an ankle injury.
Ralph Hasenhuttl, the Saints boss, had confirmed on Thursday afternoon that he will make a late decision on the fitness of the attacking ace ahead of Friday night’s meeting with Bournemouth in the Premier League.
In the game against Fulham last month, not long after setting up Michael Obafemi for Southampton’s winning goal at Craven Cottage, Redmond had to be helped off the pitch by two physios after falling awkwardly on his ankle.
“Nathan could train this week with the team. This is a good message how far he us and if he really can play tomorrow, I haven’t decided so far,” Hasenhuttl told the Southampton website. “It’s good that he could play because Moussa (Djenepo) is out for tomorrow and cannot play.”
Later on in the day, the Saints Twitter channel posted the following video clip of Redmond, complete with teasing caption:
Here is what a couple of the St Mary’s faithful said in response:
Redmond has come in leaps and bounds at Southampton over the past year and only this summer signed a new four-year contract with the Saints which ties him to the club until the summer of 2023.
In 43 appearances in all competitions last term, Redmond scored nine goals and registered six assists (Transfermarkt), all of his goals coming after Hasenhuttl took over.
