A number of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the announcement that four of the Saints’ Premier League fixtures in December and January have been selected for live broadcast (official Southampton website).

The Premier League home game against Norwich City is still being played on Wednesday 4 December but it has been bought forward by 15 minutes (7:30pm kickoff), and will be broadcast live on Amazon Prime.

Southampton’s trip to Newcastle United, which was originally scheduled for Saturday 7 December has now been moved back to Sunday 8 December (2pm kickoff) as the Magpies play on Thursday 5 December.

West Ham’s trip to St Mary’s Stadium will still take place on Saturday 14 December but it will now kick off at the later time of 5:30pm and be shown on Sky Sports, while the trip to Crystal Palace will now be played 24 hours prior, Tuesday 21 January (7:30pm kickoff).

In addition, the games against Chelsea on Boxing Day, and Tottenham Hotspur on New Year’s Day, will be broadcast live along with all other Premier League fixtures by Amazon and BT Sport respectively.
