The 20-year-old goalkeeper is now tied to the Premier League club until 2020.
Southampton have confirmed that young goalkeeper Kingsley Latham has signed a one-year extension that ties him to the Premier League club until 2020.
The 20-year-old began his journey in club football with Torquay United and also played for Yeovil Town, eventually linking up with the Saints’ Under-18s as a second-year scholar in February 2017.
Latham is currently on loan at Evo-Stik South side Dorchester Town, but continues to train at Southampton’s training ground in midweek under the tutelage of goalkeeping coach Vince Bartram.
Speaking to the official club website, the young custodian sang the Saints’ praises, saying he feels like completely different player to when he came on board two years ago.
“It’s definitely helped me to mature. Southampton have been fantastic to me since I arrived, they’ve supported me on and off the pitch,” he said. “I’m almost a different goalkeeper to the one who first signed and that’s thanks to everything I’ve learnt here.”

Latham, who stands at around 6ft 5in, signed for Dorchester last summer on a deal until January but during last month’s transfer window that was then extended until the end of the season (Dorset Echo).
Last year, Latham had a spell out with internal bleeding which he shrugged off, insisting injuries and illnesses are hazards of the game (Dorset Echo).
