Southampton are no strangers to giving young players a chance and Sam McQueen became the latest to add his name to that list when he came off the bench against Burnley this weekend.

The 21-year-old replaced Matt Targett just 14 minutes into the Premier League encounter and he did not disappoint.

After making his debut in a FA Cup clash with Sunderland back in 2014 earlier, he got his first league run-out this weekend, proving that the production line at St Mary’s is continuing at an impressive pace.

After shining on loan at Southend United, where he scored two goals and provided two assists in 18 appearances on the wing or as an attacking midfielder, McQueen will be hoping to build on a solid Premier League outing for a Southampton side that continues to impress under manager Claude Puel.
