The Southampton striker is one of the names on Sheffield United’s shortlist, according to reports in the Steel City.

Southampton fans are reacting to reports linking Shane Long with a January move to Sheffield United.
Long is one of the strikers being sought by the Blades ahead of the winter transfer window, along with Bournemouth’s Jermain Defoe, according to the Sheffield Star.
The Irishman, who recently suffered an ankle injury which may require minor surgery, has appeared nine times for the Saints this season without scoring.
And while many Sheffield United supporters are giddy at the prospect of a player of Long’s calibre arriving at Bramall Lane, a number of their Southampton counterparts would be equally excited to see him leave.
Here is what the latter lot are saying on Twitter…
Southampton are reported to have paid Hull City £12 million for Long four years ago, but the 31-year-old has rewarded his current employers with just 27 goals in 162 games.
The rumoured Sheffield United target has around 18 months left on his contract at St Mary’s.
