Southampton are one of the Premier League sides reportedly interested in signing Ademola Lookman from Everton.

Southampton fans have been reacting on Twitter to the reports that emerged on the Daily Mirror’s live transfer feed (05/06; 13:16) which suggested that the Saints are one of the sides interested in signing Ademola Lookman from Everton this summer.
Since joining in an £11 million deal in 2017 – fee reported by BBC Sport – Lookman has endured a turbulent time with the Toffees, scoring on his Premier League debut win against Manchester City but generally struggling for opportunities under both Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce.

The 20-year-old was allowed to spend the second-half of this past season out on loan with Bundesliga high-flyers RB Leipzig, and proved exactly why the Toffees spent an eight-figure fee on him as he enjoyed a brilliant spell in Germany.
Lookman scored five goals and provided three assists in just 11 top flight appearances, and the Daily Mirror’s live transfer feed (05/06; 13:16) reports that Leipzig are keen to keep him, while the Saints are looking at a potential deal as are Tottenham.

After a dramatic season which saw Mark Hughes’ men technically go into the final day still not mathematically safe from relegation, the Saints arguably need to enjoy a busy summer. The south coast club have had a fantastic record for uncovering gems in the market, but they appear to have somewhat lost their way in the last couple of windows.
Signing Lookman would be something of a gamble, but he appears to have an enormous amount of potential. But a large portion of the Southampton supporters on social media are concerned that he may end up proving to be just another inconsistent wide-man within Hughes’ squad if he joins.
There are others who feel that Lookman would be a fantastic signing based on his potential, and they are now hoping that the Saints confirm their reported interest with a concrete bid for the forward.
