Southampton could not find the breakthrough against reigning Premier League champions Leicester City on Sunday, with the two sides playing out a 0-0 draw at the King Power Stadium.

The Saints have enjoyed a renaissance in recent weeks and they will be disappointed not to have finished off some good chances against Claudio Ranieiri’s side.

The best of those fell to the previously in-form Charlie Austin but teammate Nathan Redmond also came in for some criticism during and after the match for what was perceived to be a lack of impact.

The former Norwich City player has featured regularly for Southampton this season in more of a central role but he has just one goal to his name to date, scored in the opening game of the season against Watford.

Still only 22, Redmond has plenty of time to build up momentum yet he needs to be scoring and assisting more regularly in the weeks and months ahead.
