Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing the Southampton goalkeeper.

According to a report from the Daily Star, Southampton shot-stopper Alex McCarthy is a summer transfer target for Liverpool, and some Saints fans took to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.
The 29-year-old was one of Southampton’s better players last season, and he is a popular figure at St Mary’s.
McCarthy joined the Saints from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of just £2 million, according to the Daily Echo, and he has gone on to rack up 50 appearances in all competitions for the south coast club.
Much will depend on how much Liverpool are prepared to pay Southampton for the 29-year-old, and with three years still remaining on his current deal at St Mary’s the south coast outfit should be able to demand a daily substantial fee.
