Goals of Tom Heardman and Jamie Sterry from the visitors threatened a fight back, but a late flurry of goals saw the Saints winning the tie 6-2.
Word-Prowse scored a superb free-kick for the home side, showing his quality.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has made only two starts this season, and four other appearances have come from the bench, clocking 173 minutes of Premier League action.
Known for his excellent set-piece deliveries and ability to create chances, Southampton fans were left bemused (judging by their reaction on Twitter) why Ward-Prowse hasn’t been playing regularly for the first team.

Surely, Mauricio Pellegrino will be pleased with this performance from Ward-Prowse, and may consider him for the starting role when they take on West Brom in their next Premier League match.
