Southampton fans have been reacting on Twitter after watching Guido Carrillo’s performance in the Saints’ Premier League clash with Liverpool on Sunday, and it seems that many are already starting to run out of patience with the January signing.

Carrillo became the club’s record signing last month, with the Guardian reporting at the time that the Saints paid £19.2 million to bring him to St Mary’s from Monaco. But, after a handful of appearances, the Southampton fans are still to be convinced that he is the answer to their lack of goals.

The 26-year-old was not given much service throughout the game as Liverpool went on to secure a largely comfortable victory, but his display did not do much to suggest that he was going to be the striker that was going to lead them away from the bottom three.

The Saints had begun the day with some daylight between themselves and the relegation zone, but victories for Huddersfield Town and Newcastle United earlier in the afternoon had seen Pellegrino’s men kick off against the Reds third from bottom.

And after watching Carrillo’s performance in the loss, it seems that the Saints fans are not particularly confident that they will be able to pull themselves away from danger over the coming months – though he was certainly not the only player to prove underwhelming in the loss.
