Southampton are reportedly interested in signing Edin Dzeko, but most of the fans are not getting at all carried away.
A number of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the reports emerging from the Daily Mirror which have suggested that the Saints are one of the teams interested in signing Edin Dzeko.
Mark Hughes’ men look set to be involved in another tough Premier League season having won just once in the top flight this term. They have also lost their last three league games – though that included trips to Liverpool and Wolves, as well as a home clash with the currently-irresistible Chelsea.
There is still some breathing space between the Saints and the bottom three, and it would appear that the St Mary’s side have the quality to keep themselves out of trouble. But it would seem that the board are targeting a remarkable deal to ensure that they face nothing like the situation that they had to deal with last season.
Given that Dzeko remains a key man for the Serie A side – who also find themselves in the Champions League – there are not too many Saints fans who are getting carried away with the reports.
Most cannot see why Dzeko would want to make the move to the south coast, but all seem to agree that he would be an unbelievable signing if there was any chance that a deal could be done. Unfortunately, most are not holding their breath at this stage.
