Southampton and Leicester City went head-to-head this weekend and the Portuguese defender impressed.
Southampton put in an impressive performance to thoroughly out play Premier League champions Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.
Goals from James Ward-Prowse, Jay Rodriguez and Dusan Tadic secured all three points for the Saints but it was not only their attacking players that impressed.
Southampton’s back-line also looked good with right-back Cedric Soares having one of his best matches since moving to St Mary’s.
The Portuguese international has featured 17 times for Southampton this season and if he maintains this form he should be an ever-present between now and May.
Southampton’s win took them to 27 points in the table, but such is the form of the current top seven that a European place remains a tough ask for Claude Puel’s men.
