Southampton fans have been reacting on Twitter after watching Jeremy Pied’s performance in their 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Sunday – and it appears that the majority of the supporters were not impressed.
The Frenchman has barely featured for the Saints since arriving during Claude Puel’s tenure, making just four Premier League appearances for the side during his first term.

His only previous appearance of this campaign came in the Carabao Cup defeat to Championship leaders Wolves in August, but Mauricio Pellegrino handed him his first league start of the season for the trip to the Vitality Stadium.
It was a difficult afternoon for the Saints, who went into the break a goal down with Ryan Fraser breaking the deadlock three minutes before the interval.

They found an equaliser shortly after the hour mark, with Charlie Austin being set up by Nathan Redmond, and that was the way the scoreline remained, pushing Southampton up to 11th in the table, one point off the top-half.
Pied’s performance seemed to prompt plenty of discussion on social media, with the majority of the fans who commented on the 28-year-old’s display not particularly encouraged – especially with Cedric Soares performing so consistently since his arrival.
There were some positive assessments of the full-back’s performance, but it certainly appears that some supporters will need convincing about him. Here is the best of the reaction…
