A number of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to react to Che Adams’ display during the first-half of their emphatic pre-season win against Guangzhou R&F on Tuesday.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men travelled to Macau to take on the Chinese Super League side, looking to continue their unbeaten start to pre-season, having previously drawn with SCR Altach and beaten Preston North End.

Adams scored inside two minutes in Austria, but managed to find the back of the net in even quicker time in China as his effort from outside the box was too hot for the goalkeeper and ended up crossing the line after just 52 seconds.

He did have a penalty saved before the break, but Southampton were 4-0 up by the time he was replaced – and the supporters are convinced that he is going to prove to be an outstanding signing for the Saints during the coming campaign.

Adams was superb in the Championship last season. His power gave defenders nightmares, and his goalscoring record makes his £15 million fee (via BBC Sport) seem like a real bargain for Hasenhuttl’s men.

The Saints on social media are extremely optimistic about the coming campaign, and believe Adams could be the kind of player who will prove to be an incredible find for the Saints as he continues to impress during pre-season.
