Southampton have been linked with making a move for Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw.
Southampton fans have been reacting on Twitter to the reports recently coming out of the Daily Mirror which suggested that Luke Shaw could be in line for a return to the south coast.
Shaw has endured a fairly miserable time since moving to Old Trafford for £27 million back in 2014, with a number of injury issues restricting him to just 32 Premier League appearances in the last three years.
The 22-year-old has fallen out of favour since Jose Mourinho arrived at United last summer, and the Mirror has suggested that the situation could come to a head during the upcoming January transfer window.
Interestingly, the report has received a mixed reaction from Southampton fans. Some supporters are delighted about the idea of Shaw returning given how bright his future looked while he was coming through the ranks at St Mary’s.
However, other supporters are less convinced that Shaw would be an upgrade on Bertrand. The former Chelsea man has largely been exceptional since arriving, and several fans are concerned that Shaw may never prove to be the player he looked destined to become when he left.
