The Saints defender fell out of favour last season and left St Mary’s to join Inter Milan on loan.

A number of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the club’s video clip of Cedric Soares scoring an impressive goal in training – and following it up with a familiar celebration.
The Portugal international spent the second half of last season at Italian giants Inter Milan after losing his place at right-back to French defender Yan Valery but he is back at St Mary’s and appears part of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s plans for the time being at least.
In an interview with BBC Radio Solent, Hasenhuttl was asked whether Cedric and Wesley Hoedt could have a future at Southampton, to which he replied: “I don’t want to say they have no chance to play, but for sure the challenge is a big one because of the players here who have been successful in the last months.”
Though his future remains unclear, there have been no signs of the club actively seeking to freeze him out – compare to Guido Carrillo, who does not even feature on the Southampton website’s page on the club’s first team players.

Southampton’s social media team sharing a complimentary clip of Cedric’s goal, plus his Cristiano Ronaldo-esque celebration, shows that there is still a good rapport between the two parties, and a number of Saints fans liked what they saw.
