Southampton have announced that Harrison Reed has left to join the Championship side on loan for the rest of the season.

A number of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that the club confirmed on their official website that Harrison Reed has joined Blackburn Rovers on loan for the rest of the season.
Reed has struggled to force his way into the first-team at St Mary’s. He made his first-team debut five years ago today, but has left for Ewood Park having only made 30 appearances for the Saints in all competitions.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a very promising loan spell with Norwich City last term, making 39 appearances in the Championship, scoring once. However, his form for the Canaries has not improved his chances of forcing his way into Mark Hughes’ plans.
The club have confirmed that Reed has joined Hughes’ old side for the rest of the campaign – and the news has been met with a huge amount of disappointment amongst the fans on social media.

The Saints have made a poor start to the new season, with one point coming from their opening three games, and some supporters felt that Reed deserved a chance to finally establish himself in the first-team with none of the club’s key midfielders hardly making a majorly positive impact so far.
Many of the fans feel that it is a disappointing move from the club to sanction his exit, and some have been left to write off his chances of proving himself with the Saints – though they are not convinced that that is entirely his fault.
