Arsenal will sell Theo Walcott in January – could his career go full circle with a return to Southampton?

There is no better time for Theo Walcott to make an emotional return to where it all began than January 2018.
Walcott has never been so far down the pecking order at Arsenal. He’s made just three substitute appearances in the Premier League all season, totalling 47 minutes, and has no chance of making England’s World Cup squad as things stand.
Now is the time for a radical change – and possibly even a return to the South Coast after 11 and a half years in North London.

The Sun claims that Arsenal will sell Walcott in January with the speedy winger no longer part of Arsene Wenger’s first-team plans – and Southampton are keen to bring their one-time wonderkid back to St Mary’s, over a decade after he left the club as a 16-year-old to chase his dream of emulating Thierry Henry.
And while Arsenal have no place for Walcott, the 28-year-old could take pride and place in Southampton’s attack.

The Saints are lacking in pace up top, not to mention clinical finishing. And Walcott, when on form and firing through the middle, can be a lethal goalscorer capable of comfortably reaching double figures in the Premier League.
It’s no surprise that Southampton fans who have been starved of entertainment in the last few months are getting a little giddy at the prospect of prodigal son Walcott returning home.
