The Saints academy graduate is to spend another season away from St Mary’s Stadium as he joins the Craven Cottage side on loan.

A number of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the news that Harrison Reed has joined Fulham on loan for the rest of the season.
The 24-year-old midfielder has come through the ranks at St Mary’s Stadium, making his debut in 2013, but is yet to fully establish himself in the first team, with 30 senior appearances under his belt (Transfermarkt), though the Saints say they look forward to monitoring his continued progress (official website).
As reported by the official Cottagers website, Reed made his professional debut for Southampton in 2013 against Barnsley, coming off the bench in a 5-1 win in the League Cup, then his Premier League bow came in the same season against Manchester City, before making his first start a year later in a 3-0 win over Everton.
Reed, a versatile player who can turn out in defensive midfield as well in the centre of the park and on the right-hand side (Transfermarkt), spent last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers, having been at Norwich City for the 2017-18 season.

With his contract at Southampton taking him until the summer of 2021, another solid season for the player could see him come into Ralph Hasenhuttl’s plans moving forward.
But judging by some of the fan reaction on social media, there was some real hope that this term would have been the one, hence why a number of fans aren’t best pleased:
