Southampton have been taken over today, with Serbian businessman Dragan Solak and Sport Republic finalising a purchase of the club.
Whilst much of the focus this month is on transfers, Southampton have stunned many by announcing a takeover.
Coming out of nowhere, Southampton announced today that Sport Republic have taken a controlling stake at St Mary’s Stadium.
The main main in Sport Republic is Solak, but there are others involved who are very interesting.
What is Dragan Solak’s net worth?
Solak is allegedly worth around £1bn in total assets, whilst United Group – Solak’s company – claim they make around £1.67bn a year.
Solak works in media and telecommunications, with his TV channels in Serbia even carrying Premier League games.
The fee paid for Southampton is around £150million, purchasing the club from Chinese businessman Gao Jisheng.

Who else is joining Solak at Southampton?
Sport Republic will be the controlling group at Southampton, and they’re headed up by Henrik Kraft.
Kraft is a London-based investor who held a role with the United group from 2014 to 2015.
The most interesting part is that Rasmus Ankersen is also involved.
Ankersen played a key role in the rises of Brentford of Midtjylland and brings great football knowledge to Southampton.
