The 27-year-old swapped Southampton for West Bromwich Albion this afternoon.

West Bromwich Albion announced the signing of Jay Rodriguez on a four-year contract this afternoon.

The 27-year-old attacker spent five years at Southampton and leaves the South-Coast club for £12 million, according to BBC Sport.

The England international struggled for regular football under Claude Puel at Southampton last season, but still managed five Premier League goals in nine starts under the Frenchman.

Rodriguez had been with the Saints since their return to the Premier League in 2012, and it is obvious that many of the club’s supporters will miss him, if their Twitter reaction is anything to go by.

Meanwhile, West Brom fans on Twitter seemed delighted that manager Tony Pulis has signed the forward, who managed 32 goals in 126 appearances for Southampton.
