James Ward-Prowse has reached out to former Southampton teammate Luke Shaw.
Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse has sent a heartfelt message of best wishes to former teammate Luke Shaw.
Shaw was badly injured for Manchester United in their Champions League opener away to PSV, stretchered off clutching an oxygen mask.
Ward-Prowse played alongside Shaw at Southampton, and admitted he was devastated to see his former pal suffer such an injury.
Fellow former teammates Harrison Reed was another to reach out to Shaw.
Shaw would later send an emotional message to Southampton themselves, who had wished him well and expressed their sadness at his injury.
His injury is a particularly cruel blow given the excellent form he had been in early this season for club and country.
The left-back is now even doubtful to make England’s Euro 2016 squad next summer, such is the apparent severity of the leg break.
