Everton beat Huddersfield on Saturday afternoon in Sam Allardyce’s first match in charge.

The Toffees earned a comfortable victory in Sam Allardyce’s first game in charge thanks to goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dom Calvert-Lewin, which has pushed the Merseyside club into tenth place in the Premier League table.

Allardyce earned three points in first match as the Toffees built on an impressive 4-0 win in former interim manager David Unsworth’s last game in charge against West Ham during the week, in which Wayne Rooney scored a hat-trick.
Southall, who was in the Park End stand to watch the win over newly-promoted Huddersfield, posted his bold opinion on Twitter on Sunday, stating that there was “too much good stuff, not used to it”.
Iceland international Sigurdsson did not have the best of games but opened the scoring just after the interval, as the £45million signing latched onto Calvert-Lewin’s flick to finish neatly past Town goalkeeper Jonas Lossl.

The lively Calvert-Lewin doubled Everton’s lead with a calm finish after being played through by Rooney, securing Everton’s fifth league win of the season and pushing them away from the relegation zone.
Allardyce takes charge of his second game in charge of the Merseyside club on Thursday night, as Everton travel to Cyprus to face Apollon Limassol in what is a meaningless match as the Toffees have been knocked out of the Europa League.
