Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa’s reputation means he is always a wanted man.

Leeds United landed themselves a ‘world class’ manager last month by hiring Marcelo Bielsa.

Bielsa’s reputation means he is still being touted in South America for potential jobs… even though he is contracted to Leeds.

Bielsa’s name is currently being floated about as a candidate for the Peru job.

Ricardo Gareca, another Argentine, is the current Peru boss and caused a surprise by leading them to the World Cup finals. But at the tournament they did not win a game, and he has indicated he will be stepping down.

Bola VIP ran a feature on five potential replacements for Gareca, and Bielsa is tipped as a possibility, described as ‘possible option’.

Another outlet Tele13 also report on Peru’s manager hunt, tipping Bielsa as an option, while acknowledging his contract with Leeds.

Fortunately for Leeds it is just speculation at this point, and Bielsa does not have a history of swapping one job for another.

The only worry is his history of walking away if his current role is not right, as he did at Lazio after just two days.

Leeds’ transfer business is hardly going smoothly so far, with just one player signed on loan.

While Leeds fans shouldn’t be panicked about Bielsa being tempted away, what it does show is that if his and when his spell at Leeds ends, he won’t be short of offers whatever happens.
