HITC Football understands that Wolves are sending highly-rated full-back Dexter Lembikisa to Scotland for the second-half of the season.

Dexter Lembikisa, the Jamaica international, 20, spent the first half of the campaign at the Championship’s basement boys Rotherham United, where he was a regular fixture in the team.

Lembikisa made 27 appearances for the Yorkshire side and scored once in a 2-1 success over Norwich City back in September, in his first loan spell away from Molineux.

However, the Black Country side decided to recall the young full-back and another loan destination has been sorted for the Jamaican and it will not be in England this time.

Lembikisa’s move

Sources have confirmed to HITC Football that the full-back will be spending the second half of the season a Scottish Premiership side Hearts, despite renewed interest from the EFL Championship.

We understand Norwich and Middlesbrough were amongst the sides who had shown an interest, but Hearts have managed to seal a move to take him to Tynecastle.

This will be a huge coup for the Scottish side who currently sit third in the Premiership table, 10 points off second-place Rangers in the league standings.

Despite doing so well for Rotherham, there may well be surprise that the Jamaican would not be moving to a different Championship side, instead a move up north is in the offing.

Lembikisa’s time at Rotherham

Despite making 25 appearances for the Yorkshire side, his defensive struggles meant that Rotherham continued to struggle in the league as they face the real possibility of relegation down to the third tier of English football this campaign.

Leam Richardson, the new Rotherham United head coach, deployed Lembikisa in more of an attacking wing-back role during his time at the club before he was recalled and that seemed to get the best out of the 20-year-old.

With the defender just 20 years of age, he has plenty of time to prove himself and you wonder if this loan could be his final temporary move away from Wolves before he breaks into the first-team setup under Gary O’Neil.
