- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
West Ham United have been offered the chance to sign former Tottenham Hotspur and current Ajax forward Steven Bergwijn, HITC Football understands.
Steven Bergwijn has been a success at Ajax after a couple of seasons at Tottenham Hotspur where he struggled to make an impact scoring just 8 goals and providing 10 assists in 83 games.
Since moving back to the Eredivisie, however, with Dutch giants Ajax, the winger has 24 goals in 65 appearances and has been a consistent threat in the attack.
However, the Dutchman could now be on his way back to the Premier League with sources confirming that Bergwijn has indicated his openness to moving back to England.

Bergwijn competition
The Dutch giants have struggled massively this season and as a result, they could well be open to his departure as the winger is one of the club’s highest earners.
It’s not only David Moyes’ side who are keen on the Dutchman. Crystal Palace, Brentford, Fulham, Wolves and Sean Dyche’s Everton are all understood to be interested in the Dutchman were he to become available.
West Ham could well do with a player like Bergwijn to help aid their attack who already boast an impressive 33 goals in the Premier League this season.
Bergwijn is understood to be a player that the Hammers do like so you wonder if a move could happen this January, it would certainly be some coup if they could pull it off.
Bergwijn could be a useful option
Despite being in and out of the team under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte at Tottenham, the Dutch winger did offer some positive signs, but could not get a consistent run of game time.
With Lucas Paqueta and James Ward-Prowse potentially lining up behind Bergwijn for the Hammers, the Dutch winger would certainly receive the service he craves to score the goals for the London side.
Whether a deal can be thrashed out is unclear but Bergwijn has been offered to the Hammers.
