EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey

Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike is set to sign for Eintracht Frankfurt after a host of Premier League clubs snubbed the chance to sign him.

HITC Football understands that Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed a deal with PSG to sign striker Hugo Ekitike and he will now move on loan to Germany.

Ekitike has previously rejected Frankfurt but is now on the verge of a move to the Bundesliga club.

PSG and Frankfurt struck a big deal just before the summer deadline as striker Randal Kolo Muani made a move to the French capital.

Ekitike is now going in the other direction after a number of Premier League clubs decided not to move for his signature.

Manchester United, Newcastle United, West Ham United, Fulham and Crystal Palace were all offered Ekitike again this window.

Those clubs haven’t struck a deal though and a loan move is now finalised with Frankfurt, which includes the chance for a permanent deal worth £25million.

Who is Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike?

Ekitike was born in Reims and joined the Stade de Reims youth ranks at the age of just 12.

The striker came up through the Reims ranks, hitting six goals in 15 B team games and spending time on loan at Dnish club Vejle in 2021.

Ekitike really exploded during the 2021-22 season, hitting 11 goals in 26 games to become a real sensation in France.

Branded ‘very special’ by boss Oscar Garcia, Ekitike attracted enormous interest and ended up joining PSG on loan with the deal becoming permanent last summer.

Ekitike managed four goals in 32 games for PSG last season but has only played once this term, making no appearances since the end of the summer window.

Still possessing bags of talent and potential, 21-year-old Ekitike will now look to become the next Frenchman to shine in the Bundesliga after leaving PSG, just like Christopher Nkunku and Moussa Diaby.
