- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC Football understands that Plymouth Argyle have won the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur starlet Alfie Devine on loan.
Alfie Devine has spent the first half of this season on loan at Port Vale and has impressed for the EFL League One side with 21 appearances to his name and two goals and one assist in the league and three goals and three assists in all competitions.
At just 19 years of age, the attacking midfielder is seen as a man who could offer a lot for Tottenham Hotspur in the future and these loan moves away from North London will hand him the vital game time he needs to improve.
However, he was recalled by Port Vale earlier today and it now looks like Devine will be heading to Plymouth Argyle for the rest of the season.

Devine had interest from other Championship sides
After impressing so much at Port Vale, HITC Football understands that the English midfielder had a plethora of options in the EFL Championship to choose from but it is Argyle and their new boss Ian Foster who has pulled off the coup.
Devine is the latest former England youth star to link-up with former boss Foster – who has already landed Ashley Phillips and Darko Gyabi since his arrival at Home Park.
The situation is seen as a very similar one to that of Steve Cooper when he took over from Swansea City after a spell with England’s youth sides. Marc Guehi, Conor Gallagher and Morgan Gibbs-White were signed by the Welsh side following a recommendation from Cooper.
Tottenham believe in Devine
The Championship side are currently in 18th place in the division and it is hoped that the teenage attacking midfielder could continue the good form that he showed for Vale this campaign.
Devine signed a new contract with Tottenham in September of 2022 which meant he will remain at the club until 2027 and it is hoped he can be a first-team player in the future.
Like defender Ashley Phillips, who is also at Argyle, those at Spurs believe that Devine could be a vital player for the club in the future.
