- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
Fulham have rekindled their interest in the transfer of Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade as Marco Silva looks to add to his engine room, HITC Football understands.
The Craven Cottage club have long admired the 22-year-old, so spoke to his representatives about a possible transfer during December. Fulham also reached an agreement with Andre’s camp in principle over personal terms. But sources confirm that they were not the only club.
HITC Football understands that rival teams have also reached a broad agreement with Andre about his potential transfer. Although Fulham were aware of his agents negotiating with the other suitors. The Saudi Pro League has also emerged as a likely destination for him recently.

Liverpool eyed a transfer for Fulham target Andre last summer
Saudi chiefs spoke with Andre about a transfer as a switch from Brazil to England, or Europe in general, began to seem unlikely. As well as Fulham, the Fluminense midfielder had gained interest from Liverpool last summer. Jurgen Klopp’s squad took a close look into his transfer.
But Fulham have now re-engaged in talks with Andre’s representatives over a possible £30m transfer from Fluminense. Although Maracana chiefs say they are still yet to receive an offer by the west London squad. Andre and Fluminense are now waiting to see if Fulham push on.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola thinks Andre is ‘quality’

Fulham have been following Andre closely as a likely replacement for Joao Palhinha after the interest Bayern Munich showed. Der FCB considered reviving their pursuit of the 28-year-old this month after coming close to a deal on deadline day but have not yet tabled a fresh offer.
Any move for Andre would be his first transfer away from Fluminense, having joined the Rio de Janeiro club in his youth. The four-cap Brazil international has so far made 170 first-team appearances for the club, as well. He recorded 60 of his appearances to date through 2023.
The defensive midfielder also featured with Fluminense against Manchester City at the Club World Cup in December. Andre has even impressed Citizens boss Pep Guardiola, who called the Fulham target ‘quality’, ahead of the final. Andre played the full 90 minutes in a 4-0 loss.
