EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are just three of the Premier League clubs who have sent scouts to watch Fiorentina’s rising Serie A star Michael Kayode in the last few weeks.

HITC Football understands that the rampaging right-back, one of the breakout talents in Italian football this season, continues to have the scouts flocking to Florence despite only signing a long-term contract until the summer of 2028 back in October.

London trio Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea have all watched Michael Kayode in the flesh in recent weeks. As have West Ham United and Aston Villa.

There is interest from across the continent too. Inter Milan, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund are all keen. Ditto Bayern Munich and Napoli, two clubs who have already lost out to Tottenham Hotspur this year when Radu Dragusin opted to follow in the footsteps of fellow Serie A exports Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario.

Tottenham and Arsenal among Michael Kayode suitors

Kayode, an attack-minded 19-year-old, is a very modern full-back in the Udogie mould. The teenager already has a handful of goal contributions since forcing his way into the first-team picture at Fiorentina, establishing himself in the Italy under-21 squad as a result.

An extraordinary performance’ was the verdict of Fiorentina chief Daniele Prade after Kayode kept the reigning Serie A Player of the Year Khvicha Kvaratskhelia quiet during October’s 3-1 win at the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona.

“This one is really strong,” Pino Vitale, an experienced Italian agent, tells Radio Firenze Viola.
“Incredible. He forced Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to chase him.

“Kvaratskhelia had to change wings due to the way Kayode controlled him! There is no need to worry about him. He is only 19 years old, but he is a ‘player’.”

Fiorentina starlet is on Aston Villa’s radar

Should Tottenham look to bring in the teenager, Kayode’s arrival could pave the way for Emerson Royal to depart.

With his pace and attacking intent, Kayode feels a better fit for Ange Postecoglou’s system than the batting Brazilian, sharing more in common with Pedro Porro than Emerson.

Aston Villa, HITC understands, are also in the market for a new right-back. There is interest in Inter Milan’s experienced Dutchman Denzel Dumfries but he is only one of the options under consideration with Kayode seemingly another.
