Graeme Souness has suggested to Sky Sports that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was angry at Fabinho, when Chelsea scored just before the break.

Liverpool went into half-time at 3-1 up, but their failure to see the half out with a clean-sheet aggravated their manager.

And Souness says that Klopp was furious when the goal went in, with £43 million man Fabinho (Sky Sports) not showing the best of his defensive qualities.

“I think Fabinho’s caught ball-watching slightly and Willian’s drifted in-behind him,” the Scot said.

“Jurgen, we were sitting behind him, was a not a happy bunny when that goal went in. He was fuming with someone.”

Liverpool actually ended up struggling to deal with Chelsea’s attacking threat all evening, but they still came out victorious.

The Reds simply proved too strong going forward in the contest, as they ran out 5-3 winners.

On a night where attacks certainly triumphed over defences, Liverpool scored through Naby Keita, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Georginio Wijnaldum, Roberto Firmino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

And if Klopp was angry at his side’s defending, that frustration had subsided by full-time.

The Liverpool boss was clearly delighted as the Reds lifted the Premier League trophy for the very first time.
