Graeme Souness has labelled Tottenham striker Harry Kane as an ‘all-round super footballer’ and stated that he would ‘pay just to watch him play’.

There aren’t many strikers in world football that are more dangerous when they drop onto the halfway line than they are inside the opposition’s box.

Kane is proving that week in and week out, not just during this campaign, but last season also under Jose Mourinho.

It’s remarkable to think that Tottenham have scored nine goals from their last two matches, yet their star striker hasn’t found the back of the net.

Whilst he’s not adding to his Premier League goals of late, the England captain is still notching up the assists, including two at Villa Park on Saturday.

Just like his playing days, Souness can be a hard critic when talking about footballers, but he is certainly a fan of Kane, that’s for sure, as he told Sky Sports PL.

“I think Harry Kane, since he has come back,” said Souness. “He had a disastrous start by his standards.

“I think he’s quickly becoming a player that you would pay to watch just him play. His football, at the moment, is the best I have seen from him.

“Okay, he won’t be entirely happy because he’s not getting the goals. But his game is just superb.

“He is an all-round super footballer – but his football is just sensational.”

Tottenham now have a hold of fourth spot in the Premier League table and will feel, along with their world-class manager, Antonio Conte, their ruthless and lethal front three, then they should push this one over the line.

But this is where Spurs have a tendency to mess things up, so they won’t be counting their chickens just yet.

It wasn’t so long ago that Arsenal were leading that charge and they are now part of the chasing pack.

So, with the eagerly-awaited North London derby around the corner, there could be plenty more twists and turns yet.
