Some Rangers fans are confused why they are reportedly prepared to pay so much to sign Daniel Johnson from Preston North End.
Rangers are aiming to sign Johnson this week, according to The Scottish Sun, with Steven Gerrard’s side prepared to pay £3 million to get the deal done.
Johnson is reportedly eager to make the move to Ibrox now.
But while the transfer has created excitement, some Rangers supporters fear that they are overpaying.
Johnson’s contract expires next year, which means Rangers would be free to talk to him in January about signing a pre-contract.
And Rangers fans are slightly concerned that their latest potential transfer may not make much financial sense.
Regardless of the costs involved, Johnson should improve the quality of Rangers’ midfield.
The Jamaican midfielder has impressed at Championship level, and possesses a lot of energy and a strong goalscoring threat.
