Former Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has grand hopes for new club Brescia.
Cellino sold Leeds to Andrea Radrizzani earlier this summer, and has since reinvested in the Serie B club.
He has bought a 61 per cent stake in the club, and hopes to lead them into the top flight.
Just like at Leeds, he has kicked off the new era with a big hope regarding a new stadium.
At Leeds he planned to buy stadium Elland Road – announcing it shortly after taking over in 2014.
He did not manage it during his three years at the club, who had leased it since 2004.
He hopes for different results in Italy.
Brescia are planning for a new stadium, and Cellino hopes to oversee the construction of a shiny new stadium.
He told a press conference, reported by La Presse: “If it is not 50,000, it will be 20,000, if it will not be gold, it will be silver, but I want to work for it.”
Cellino may have to rely on outside investment rather than being able to fund it himself, but he is hoping to get fans onside early on.
His time at Leeds was controversial, and new owner Andrea Radrizzani has since managed to buy back Elland Road this summer.
