Leeds United have the Championship’s most creative striker this season, according to statistics.

Souleymane Doukara scored an impressive goal for Leeds in their FA Cup win against Rotherham at the weekend, underlining that he can be a key contributor to the side.

After spending most of 2015 on the sidelines, head coach Steve Evans has integrated him back into the first team, and it is deserved after scoring consistently for the under-21s and rebuilding his confidence.

He has another string to his bow too, for Doukara is statistically, the most creative forward in the Championship this season when judged on a minutes per chance created basis.

Comparing the figures of strikers to have played a minimum of 10 games, Doukara makes a key pass every 30 minutes he is on the pitch, unmatched in the division.

Former Leeds strikers Matt Smith (51 minutes) and Ross McCormack (53 minutes) now of Fulham, lag behind, as do Doukara’s current teammates.

Chris Wood creates a chance once every 83 minutes he plays, and Mirco Antenucci every 117 minutes.

The figures highlight the energy Doukara has brought to the first team upon his recall, and that while he still has not won everybody over, he is making an impact on games and being productive, which as their record of 26 goals in 25 league games shows, Leeds need more of.
