The Leeds United player was hit-and-miss against Barnsley but he did plenty right on the day.
Leeds United suffered a loss at the hands of Barnsley this weekend, with three quick-fire goals either side of two Chris Wood strikes condemning the Whites to a 3-2 defeat.
It was a major blow to Garry Monk’s side, who are pushing hard for promotion and were looking an outside bet to break into the top two in the weeks ahead.
After the match, some Leeds fans turned their ire on attacker Souleymane Doukara – a man who has always divided opinion at Elland Road despite an upturn of form under Monk.
Doukara started for Leeds on Saturday, however by the end of the game some Whites supporters were calling for him to be dropped and replaced by another of the club’s wide options such as Stuart Dallas.
But despite Doukara’s latest outing being something of a mixed bag, he did not deserve the criticism coming his way.
In fact, while he did not have the best game in front of goal his work ethic – which has been questioned – was clear to see.

The Leeds wide man won a very impressive 11 duels on the day, while he also recovered the ball on eight occasions, doing the dirty work time and again.
Doukara also won six aerial duels and was dispossessed only once all match.
However, his performance at the opposite end of the field left a lot to be desired, with a passing accuracy of just 48 per cent (well below the required standard) while he failed to play a key pass and had a 50 per cent shooting accuracy (from two efforts).
While the Leeds man did not do enough in the final third, his four successful dribbles combined with his defensive work show how unfair it is to single him out on this occasion.
