Liverpool supporters have provided a mixed reaction to the news that Naby Keita has returned to training.
Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Keita is back on the field again (LFC Twitter), but he won’t be ready for Liverpool’s Champions League clash against RB Leipzig tonight.
On one hand, Liverpool supporters are thrilled to see Keita back because they have missed his qualities in the middle of the park.
But, on the other hand, they are worried he might not last long given his injury record since his £48 million move to Merseyside (BBC Sport).
Liverpool are missing that energy, aggression and bite in midfield, which the quick-footed Keita can provide, no doubt.
And whilst the midfielder won’t be available for tonight’s fixture, those on the red half of Merseyside are hoping he can be ready for Everton at the weekend.
It is going to be some battle for Klopp’s confidence-drained team against their rivals, who are pushing for those Champions League places.
Either way, the fans are hoping Keita is in that matchday squad because he will provide them all with a much-needed boost.
