Arsenal target Juan Cuadrado has declared that he is happy at Fiorentina and wants to stay with the Serie A side.

Fiorentina star Juan Cuadrado insists he is happy to stay at the Stadio Artemio Franchi despite recent links with Arsenal.

Arsenal have reportedly sent scouts to watch Cuadrado on at least one occasion this season and there have been whispers in the Italian press that the Gunners are keen on the Colombian international.

It has been a breakthrough season for Cuadrado who has been a key figure for the Viola and was again impressive as Fiorentina beat Romanian side Pandurii Targu Jiu 2-1 to ensure progress to the next stage of the Europa League.

Sadly for Arsenal fans, when quizzed in a post-match interview about his future, Cuadrado insisted that he has no intention of heading to England.

“I feel settled and am happy here in Florence,” the Udinese co-owned man declared. “We are working on renewing my contract at the moment.

“We will agree on a contract renewal and I am ready to commit to staying here.”

Fiorentina’s Chief Operating Officer Sandro Mencucci was also on hand to scotch any rumours that Cuadrado may leave the club.

“Cuadrado is happy here and I have faith in him,” he said. “He’s an extraordinary player and we will do everything possible to keep him in Florence.”

For now it appears that Arsenal, as well as Cuadrado’s other alleged suitors including Juventus, won’t be getting their hands on him.
