Marco Silva has been speaking to the media ahead of Fulham’s clash with Derby on Friday, and his comments will interest Liverpool fans.
What’s the story?
Well, on April 7th, Fabrizio Romano exclusively revealed that Liverpool had completed the signing of Fabio Carvalho for a total fee of £7.7m, taking add-ons into account.
The Reds appeared to have taken advantage of the 19-year-old’s situation at Fulham, with his contract expiring in June.
Now, however, Silva appears to know nothing about that, after he admitted he’s still trying to get the teenager to sign a new contract.
As quoted by Football Daily, the Portuguese coach said: “About his future, I hope I can have a right answer to you soon. Probably end of the season. It’s been tough for us to renew his contract. Let’s see what he can do.”
By the sounds of it, Silva has no knowledge of Carvalho joining Liverpool, which puts Romano’s exclusive in doubt.
Liverpool would get a gem in Fabio Carvalho

If Romano’s news is accurate, and Jürgen Klopp really has got his hands on Carvalho, Liverpool fans are in for a treat.
The Portugal Under-21 international is a precocious prospect, who has already made his Premier League debut, doing so at the age of 18 years, eight months and one day in a 2-0 defeat against Chelsea.
So far this season, Carvalho has scored seven goals in 30 Championship outings from an attacking midfield position, while also providing seven assists.

The wonderkid also has one goal in two FA Cup appearances this term, with that strike impressively coming against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
If Liverpool can get Carvalho to Anfield, where Trent Alexander-Arnold and Harvey Elliott are already shining, the future will be bright for the Reds.
